Wilson sells Water Gardens jv for £70m

Wilson Bowden has sold its joint venture, The Water Gardens in Harlow, for £70m to Resolution Property.

The Water Gardens development comprises 460,000m2 of retail floorspace and 120m2 of offices. Eight per cent of the retail floorspace has already been pre-let with tenants such as Asda, Matalan, Next, Esporta, TK Maxx, Clarks and JD Sports.

The offices will form the new town hall and chambers for Harlow Council.

The first phase of the development is due to open this summer with the second phase scheduled for opening by September 2004.

Wilson Bowden's partners in the venture are Harlow Council and English Partnerships.
