Special Projects lands role in highways consortium
NMC Special Projects Division has been named in the supply chain
for the AMScott consortium, which has won the Highways Agency's
(HA) Area 7 MAC (Managing Agent Contractor) deal. NMC will
undertake individual improvement schemes up to the value of
£500,000.
"We had been a framework contractor in our own right before the
HA's latest procurement changes, working in what was Area 13," said
Moyle. "Now we have a position in a bigger consortium where Alfred
McAlpine and Scott Wilson manage the project, while as a framework
supplier we do civils and highways work.
"Large clients are increasingly moving towards working with the big
players, which means that a contractor of our size must build
relationships with them. We are doing just that but it is early
days."
Moyle's challenge is to make NMC "exportable" so that when the
AMScott bids for further work, it takes NMC into new areas as a
result of having found it to be a worthy framework partner.
