ICE issues partnering addendum
A special ICE Conditions of Contract Partnering Addendum has been
published for use with standard forms of civil engineering
contract.
The addendum aims to deliver the intention of the Latham and Egan
reports by establishing an effective and flexible mechanism for
multi-party partnering using the ICE Conditions of Contract, ACE
2002 Agreements, and CECA forms of subcontract. It governs the
implementation of the partnering agreement and the relationship
between the partners.
The document has been drawn up by the civil engineering Conditions
of Contract Standing Joint Committee.
Committee chairman David Hodgkinson said: "The partnering addendum
is a major step forward for those who wish to partner using ICE
conditions of contract.
"With an upfront relationship, clients, consultants, and
contractors can look forward to performance improvements and cost
savings. The publication of the addendum confirms that ICE
conditions of contract are non-adversarial," he added.
