Four share £140m bonanza on Teesside
Stockton Council, via its stock transfer arm Tristart Homes, has chosen Connaught, Dunelm, Mears and Frank Haslam Milan to refurbish 14,000 dwellings in Teesside over the next seven years. The work is worth £140m.

HA work to improve M4 and M5
The Highways Agency isto carry out improvement schemes on the M4 and M5in south Gloucestershire and north Somerset. The project includes 14km of climbing lanes worth £31m and road widening worth £40m.

Skanska's £22m Canadian mine deal
Cementation Skanska has clinched a £22m turnkey deal to expand Red Lake Mine in Ontario, Canada. The project, for client Goldcorp, involves constructing a shaft 2,200m deep - one of the largest such projects in the country.

Tower Hamlets design and build scheme
The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is inviting contractors to pitch for a two-stage contract to design and build an £11m to £12m sports facility at Mile End Park in London E14.

Crown House goes green on campus
Crown House has taken a £3.7m turnkey deal to set up a "low carbon" energy scheme at the University of Edinburgh's King's Buildings campus. The project includes installing 4km of mains pipework.

A McAlpine, Morgan and Balfour eye Subterra
Balfour Beatty and Morgan Sindall are rumoured to be in a three-horse race, along with Alfred McAlpine, for Subterra, a specialist utility subcontractor business built up by Thames Water, but now for sale after being deemedto be non-core.

Bovis' Plymouth project delayed
Bovis Lend Lease's £23m Portland Square development in Plymouth is running nine months late. The new medical school building, located at Plymouth University's North Hill Campus, was due to be finished last September, but completion is now set for July.
