The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) is to come under
scrutiny by the National Audit Office to determine whether it is
delivering best value.
Under review will be whether government departments' procurement
capabilities have improved under guidance from the OGC since its
set up in 2000, if OGC is delivering value for money and what more
can be done to secure value for money.
Other processes include a survey of government departments and agencies' procurement practices, as well as consultations with suppliers.
OGC currently provides guidance across the government's £14bn procurement programme.
Results of the report are to be published early next year.
