Allu is to display at Hillhead a range of excavator-mounted
equipment that can be combined to provide mass soil stabilisation.
The individual components are the Powder Spreader, the Power Mix,
compacting plates and the existing screening bucket.
The Power Mix comes in two sizes (PM200 and PM300) and is able to
introduce stabilising/binding agents down to a depth of 3m in all
soil conditions. This process is carried out in situ on undisturbed
ground and, depending on the soil conditions, can process between
50m3 and 100m3 per hour.
Where the soil has been pre-excavated, the Allu Powder Spreader can
be used to distribute the powder on the surface of the ground
before the soil and powder are mixed using Allu's screening bucket.
Having mixed the binder agent into the soil, the compacting plate
can then be used to firm the ground. The plates come in a range of
sizes for machines from below 1t to 60t, with the largest unit
producing just under 9t of vibrating force.
To facilitate swapping between the attachments, the company has
also introduced the Allu Oilquick system - a quick hitch for both
excavators and wheel loaders. It not only connects mechanically,
but also engages the hydraulic connections at the same time, giving
a changing over-period between powered attachments of under 10
seconds, said the company.
"Now with our range of attachments, one man with a 35t excavator
has everything needed to stabilise any soil type, from heavy clay
to a peat bog," said David Maclynn, export sales manager at Allu
manufacturer Ideachip.
