Skanska wins five-year framework deal
Cementation Foundations Skanska has been awarded the five-year framework contract to upgrade earth structures on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly Lines by Tube Lines. The deal is worth £10m covering 18 sites.

Shepherd awarded £9m design and build deal
Shepherd Construction has won a £9.2m design and build contract to refurbish the former Alfred Wilson House office block into 83 loft apartments in Newcastle upon Tyne for London & Regional Properties. Completion is set for May 2004.

Southern Water's call for bidders
Southern Water wants contractors to pre-qualify for work worth £150m to £300m covering its: water storage, supply and distribution network; waste water storage and collection network; and highway remediation work.

Contractors wanted for £39m Bristol work
At-Bristol and the University of the West of England are inviting contractors to bid for a £39m two-stage tender scheme with GMP to design and build a mixed-use scheme at Harbourside in Bristol.

New MD for Union Railways (North)
Alan Dyke has been promoted to managing director of Union Railways (North), the client for Section 2 of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. He replaces Walt Bell, who is now projects director of parent firm London & Continental Railways.
