MoD delays its decision on £3.9bn scheme
A preferred bidder for the £3.9bn Ministry of Defence (MoD)
Project Allenby and Project Connaught PFI will not be announced
until the end of July.
Originally due this month, the selection has been postponed because
the MoD needs more time to evaluate the bids.
Frances Howarth, communications and liaison officer for the scheme,
told CJ: "After receiving the bids back in December we did an
evaluation and carried out a revise and confirm exercise, which
meant both consortia had to get their revised bids back to us by
April."
The two teams battling it out to provide technical, administrative
and domestic accommodation and associated support services for
military and civilian staff in Aldershot and the Salisbury Plain
area are the Abraxis Group (Amey/Bovis Lend Lease) and Aspire
Defence (Mowlem/ Halliburton Brown & Root).
