The Partnering Toolkit, the latest publication from the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) which provides "the most up-to-date received wisdom on the subject of partnering", has been launched today (Tuesday).
Speaking at the launch, Trevor Hursthouse, chairman of the Specialist Engineering Contractors' Group, said: "Today's construction industry is about harnessing engineering skills and technology.
"Partnering must therefore embrace all those involved in the delivery of specialist engineering systems, products, structures and services."
He added that it was "absolutely essential" that this should take place during the planning and design processes, when "risks - especially health and safety risks - can be more effectively and efficiently managed".
Copies of the Partnering Toolkit - which has been compiled by Geraldine Samuelsson-Brown of the Centre for Operations Research - can be ordered from BSRIA on 01344 426511, or via the Internet at www.bsria.co.uk.
