Demolition men and builders in TV knockout

Anglia Television has revised its plans for a Channel 4 TV It's a knockdown contest involving builders and demolition men.

The projected Granada programme, Demolition Day, is described as "a mixture of engineering, construction and demolition know-how, initiative, strength, strong nerves and teamwork".

Plans are for the contest to take place from early August to early October. The idea is for two teams to compete to build the strongest structure they can in three days using the same materials and tools.

The fourth day will be Demolition Day, when the teams will seek to demolish their competitors' design. The first to flatten their opponents' structure wins. There will be no overall competition as stated in this week's Contract Journal.
