Among a raft of revisions, the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) will introduce a provision to its contracts that encourages the use of workers with CSCS skills cards or an equivalent recognised qualification scheme.
Other revisions in the pipeline include a short form of domestic subcontract which can be used in conjunction with most JCT main contracts (due for publication later in the summer) and a replacement for the DOM/2 form (due later this year).
Meanwhile the JCT has agreed to develop a partnering contract in conjunction with Be (Collaborating for the Built Environment) to meet the requirements of the Local Government Association procurement panel. The JCT also plans to set up a working party to develop a consultancy agreement for use by local authorities.
