Removal of two derelict coast protection groynes - Waveney District Council


GROYNE REMOVAL WORKS AT LOWESTOFT, SUFFOLK

Expressions of interest are invited from suitably experienced and skilled
contractors who wish to be considered for inclusion on a tender list for
works to remove two derelict coast protection groynes at North Beach,
Lowestoft, Suffolk.
The works will comprise the removal, or reduction to a suitably low level,
of two timber and steel sheet pile groynes, each of about 45 metres length.
The nature of the work will require some underwater excavation and cutting
of materials.
The value of the construction contract is estimated at £120,000. The works
are programmed to commence in summer 2003.
