HIGHWAY DRAINAGE WORKS CONTRACT
Applications are invited from experienced contractors to be considered for
inclusion on a Select List from which tenders will be invited for a Highway
Drainage Works contract. The works are programmed to be executed over a two
year period (with an option to extend for further drainage works at the
Council's discretion) commencing from December 2003.
The contract will include construction and repair of surface water drains,
foul or combined drains, land drains, culverts, manholes, catchpits,
gullies and other items of drainage pipe work including deep excavations
and tunnelling.
The Authority will award the contract on the basis of acceptance of that

tender which is most economically advantageous to the Council based on the
criteria included in the contract documents.
Contractors responding will be required to complete a questionnaire and to
provide supporting documentation including regarding company finance,
technical and managerial competence, references and details of comparable
work. The last date for requesting a Pre-tender Application pack and
Questionnaire is 28 July 2003. Questionnaires should be returned by 11
August 2003.
