Manitowoc prepares for life as a major international force

The Manitowoc Crane Group - which now includes Manitowoc crawler cranes, Potain tower cranes and Grove mobile cranes - will now operate as a single consolidated entity in the UK, it has announced today (Thursday).

Heading up this new cranes group will be Steve Barnett, who was previously UK managing director of Manitowoc-Potain. Based at the company's Uxbridge office, he will be responsible for sales activities of all three crane product groups in the UK, and for Grove and
Manitowoc in the Republic of Ireland.

Reporting to Barnett will be Kim Dandridge who will be responsible for Potain products, and Ross Wilson and Barry Fry looking after Manitowoc and Grove respectively.

Product support for all of the Group's cranes will now operate under the wing of Manitowoc's worldwide 'Crane Care' division, for which the European and Middle Eastern region is directed from France.

For field service and parts supply in the UK for Potain tower cranes, Uxbridge will continue to be the headquarters, while the Grove mobile cranes association will continue with the Sam Walker organisation, which has its own dedicated repair workshops and training facilities.

Commenting on the new arrangements, Barnett said: "The new consolidated Manitowoc Group is a major international force in the crane industry, arguably the largest crane manufacturing group in the world.

"With our pooled resources in the UK we shall offer the broadest range of lifting products from one single source."
