Waiting over as Norwest Holst wins £15.3m hospital contract


Norwest Holst Construction has been awarded a £15.3m contract to refurbish and extend St Charles Hospital in London.

Awarded by the Central and North West London Mental Health NHS Trust, the work will involve the refurbishment of Chamberlain House and Grade II listed Nightingale House to provide a 4000m2 facility made up of a day hospital, associated offices and a number of wards.

The 8000m2 mental health unit is to be remodelled in two phases and will remain in occupation throughout.

Architect on the project is Frederick Gibberd Partnership and consulting engineer is Hyder Consulting.
