Defence Estates has today (Tuesday)
revealed that there are three potential tenderers for the Ministry
of Defence's (MoD) £460m South East Regional Prime
Contract.
Babcock Prime Solutions, Serco, and PriDE (a special purpose
vehicle between Southern Electric Contracting & Interserve
Defence), are all competing for the contract to provide property
maintenance and capital works to over 94 MoD sites across South
East England, including Greater London.
Project team leader, Mike Pearson said: "The aim over the coming
months is to select a prime contractor who is not only going to
offer the best value to our MoD customers, but also one that we can
work with in a collaborative relationship throughout the life of
the contract."
He continued: "The intention is to appoint a preferred bidder in
July 2004, with the contract being awarded in November 2004."
The contract is for a minimum of seven years with the potential to
extend it for up to 10 years.
