Taywood appoints chairman

Taylor Woodrow has appointed Norman Askew as non-executive chairman and a non-executive director.

Askew joins from BNFL where he was chief executive. He has also held senior positions with the TI Group and East Midlands Electricity.

Taywood chief executive Iain Napier said: "We are fortunate to have secured the services of Norman Askew as Chairman and I am confident that the board and the company will benefit from his contribution."

Askew said: "I am delighted to be joining the Taylor Woodrow team, which I hold in high regard, and look forward to making a positive contribution to the company's progress in the years ahead."

Norman Broadhurst, who has been serving as acting chairman since 29 May 2003, pending the appointment of the chairman, will continue as deputy chairman.
