New UK dealer for Australia's Primax pumps, W Robinson & Sons, has launched a new compact super-silenced water pump, said to be ideal for residential applications as it is equipped with a fully bunded silenced canopy to 61 dBa at 7m.
At present no regulations exist for noise emissions from pumps, but as Tim Harper sales manager for W Robinson pointed out: "Gen-sets and most other pieces of kit have to comply with noise emission controls and it's only a matter of time before pumps have to fall into line.
"By launching our new pump we are keeping ahead of any new regulations and making available a unit that will be fully compliant when noise controls are enforced," he said.
The Primax 152mm (6 Inch) CP150QS has been designed specifically for the UK, and will be assembled at W Robinson's facility in Hainault, Essex. The pump (wet end) is initially imported from Australia, while the rest of the kit is sourced by the dealer from its own worldwide supplier network.
The unit features a four-wheel trailer and a 45 kW four cylinder Isuzu diesel engine has a maximum output of 490m3 per hour and a maximum solids handling capacity of 75mm.
Primax is a division of Australia's Sykes Pumps and are
manufactured in Cardiff, New South Wales.
