Travis Perkins buys Jayhard for £26.5m

Travis Perkins has bought plumbing and heating product merchant Jayhard for £26.5m.

Jayhard has a network of 53 branches throughout the UK. In the year ending 30 June, Jayhard's turnover was £57.2m with underlying operating profit of £3m.

The acquisition takes Travis Perkins' number of specialist plumbing and heating branches to 149.

Travis Perkins chief executive Frank McKay said: "The acquisition of Jayhard further enhances our offering to the plumbing and heating sector, and is consistent with out strategy of investing in opportunities for growth and in our chosen areas of product specialisation."
