C40 enters test production
The first pre-production versions of Taylor Construction Plant's
(TCP) C40 mini crusher are ready to enter service for full
evaluation. The crusher is mounted on a 700mm-wide Hi-T500 tracked
undercarriage and has 60t of crushing jaw force. It has a crushing
capacity of 3t/hr to 10t/hr of material ranging from soft red brick
to kerbstones and granite to small quantities of asphalt. The 400mm
square hopper is 1.2m high to allow hand loading and the crusher
comes complete with a short conveyor to load the crushed material
into a barrow. Alternatively, it can power an additional 3m
stand-alone conveyor to load skips. Finished product size can be
adjusted between 20mm and 70mm by moving spacer plates from one
side of the jaw pivot to the other. The dust suppression system is
fed from a domestic garden hose. Power comes from a single-cylinder
7.5kW diesel engine with 104dB(A) noise emissions. Service
intervals are at 250 hours. All the wear plates are made from
Hardox steel and are bolted on for easy replacement, while the main
jaw bearing is made from carbon fibre and does not require daily
lubrication. The machine, which weighs 750kg and has a set-up time
of five minutes, has a list price of £18,000. Skid-mounted and
trailer-mounted options are being considered and these could be
slightly cheaper. TCP managing director Andrew Barker said he had
been looking for a small crusher for several years before deciding
to build a model. After 12 months of development, the machine was
shown at SED to gauge customers' reactions and comments leading to
a few modifications.Barker said both hire companies and end-users
are interested in the machine and he would like to see production
levels running at 15 to 20 units per month.
