LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
TERM CONTRACTS FOR REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE OF NON-HOUSING
PROPERTIES
2004/2007
Applications are invited from suitably qualified contractors who
wish to be
considered for inclusion on to tender lists for the contracts shown
below.
The contracts cover various building elements, for the repair
and
maintenance of non-housing properties located within the London
Borough of
Merton.
* Building Maintenance Term Contract - Approx Annual Value
£250k
* Roofing Term Contract - Approx Annual Value £35k
* Glazing Term Contract - Approx Annual Value £12k
Initially the contracts will be for a 36-month period, but will
include an
option to extend for a further 24-month period subject to price
and
performance. Contractors are required to be Quality Assurance
approved,
able to provide a 24-hour emergency call-out service, and hold
membership
of an appropriate trade association.
Contractors should apply in writing for a pre-tender questionnaire,
stating
in which of the three contracts they are interested, and return
the
completed questionnaire by the closing date stated below.

Programme for tender submissions:
Reply to this advertisement by 5th September 2003.
Questionnaire to be returned by 26th September 2003.
Tender documents to selected contractors on 5th January 2004.
Tender return date 2nd February 2004.
Contract commencement date 1st April 2004.
Contract Completion date 31st March 2007.
Contractors are advised that if successful, they will be required
to
produce proof of insurance cover, including public liability, to a
value of
£10m (Building) and £2m (Roofing & Glazing).
Companies not already covered
to such limits should not obtain cover unless notified of being
successful
as no refunds of any such insurance costs can be made to either
successful
or unsuccessful contractors.
