Construction company Mansell has been awarded an £8m
contract for the construction of a
new sports facility for the Robert Gordon University in
Scotland.
Site work will start immediately in preparation for the
construction of the 4,200m3, four-storey building which will be
located between the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Health
and Social Science on the Garthdee campus.
The sports centre will include a 25m swimming pool and a multi-use
sports hall, with space for nine badminton courts.
There will also be an aerobics studio and cardiovascular gym
along with separate rooms for other activities, such as dancing and
martial arts.
Other facilities will include a cafeteria and changing rooms.
Completion is scheduled for late 2004.
