CONTRACT FOR FOOTSHOLE MINES DRAINAGE RECONSTRUCTION
Expressions of interest are invited from suitably experienced contractors
wishing to be considered for a design/construct partnership contract for
the reconstruction of the footshole mines drainage system. Works are likely
to consist of a combination of traditional open trench drainage techniques
together with pipe jacking/tunnelling through a landfill site and below a
canal. The value of the works is estimated to be in the region of £2m.
Dudley Council intend to appoint a contractor to provide both design input

and undertake the construction phase of the works. It is proposed to use
the ICE New Engineering Contract Form of Contract, Option D Target price.
All applicants will be supplied with a questionnaire covering issues such as:
Company capability statement
Financial Statements
Experience of Partnering
Quality Management
Environmental/Health & Safety Policies and Management Systems
Performance Monitoring
Technical References
On receipt of competed Questionnaires and supporting documentation Dudley
Council propose to undertake a formal quality assessment process in order
to establish a list of 4-6 contractors who will be invited to tender and
attend a formal presentation.
