Alfred McAlpine has today (Thursday)
sealed an £85m long-term highway maintenance PPP contract for
Suffolk County Council.
McAlpine will manage the county's highway
maintenance programme, working alongside the council's in-house
construction team Suffolk Highways Contracting.
The four-year contract, which could be extended to nine years, will
start next month and is expected to generate between £8m -
£9m of highway maintenance work per year.
Ian Grice, chief executive of McAlpine, said: "We have been
providing street-lighting maintenance services to Suffolk for some
time and this latest development demonstrates our ability to expand
the range of services we provide to our clients."
