The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) is
continuing to investigate an incident involving two steel erectors
who were injured last Tuesday when a section of wall collapsed on
them in Liverpool city centre.
The unnamed men were working for a subcontractor that was carrying
out work on behalf of Allenbuild's North West office on a partially
demolished block of buildings in Richmond Street, when the section
of wall fell on them from 9m.
One of the men, aged 40, ended up trapped under the rubble and had
to be rescued by fire crews. He is believed to have suffered leg
and arm injuries.
His 52-year-old colleague managed to free himself but suffered head
and back injuries.
Both men were taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital for treatment,
but have since been released.
