Kier Western wins £7.7m schools project

Kier Western, part of the Kier Group, has been awarded a contract by North Somerset Council to build a £7.7m community project in Weston-super-Mare.

Work on the Campus Community Project comprises a new two storey building which includes a 420-place primary school, a 67-place severe learning difficulties school, a gymnasium, community learning and resource centre, community rooms and community police office.

The provision of sports and recreational facilities, including changing areas, hard and soft landscaping, highway works and car parking are also part of the deal.

A 120-place temporary school adjacent to the main site which will be used until the main school is open.

Completion is scheduled for September 2004.
