Interserve seals £45m HA contract for the A1

Interserve has today (Friday) been confirmed as the winner of the £45.4m Highways Agency (HA)contract for the A1 between Peterborough and Blyth.

The 100% quality bid will involve the construction of grade-separated junctions to remove roundabouts at six existing junctions on the A1 at:

• A1/ A614 Blyth.
• A1/ A57 Apleyhead.
• A1/ A57 Markham Moor.
• A1/ B1174 Gonerby Moor.
• A1/ A151/ B676 Colsterworth.
• A1/ B1081 Carpenters Lodge.

The implementation of the 'price-free' procurement will allow for greater innovation, shorter construction periods, better planning and resource requirements.
