Plant hire director gets five year ban

The director of a plant hire and piling services business which failed with debts of more than £168,000 has been disqualified for five years in the Brighton County Court from acting as a company director.

Simon Rider, 48, of Crawley, West Sussex, was a director of Macklin Ground Engineering Ltd, which carried on business from premises at Ifield, West Sussex.

The company was voluntarily wound up on 19 October 2000 with estimated debts of £167,923 owed to its creditors.

The Disqualification Order, made on 15 August 2003, prevents Rider from being a director of a company or, in any way, whether directly or indirectly, being concerned in or taking part in the promotion, formation or management of a company for the above period.
