Heathrow fraud investigation continues

Police have arrested and released a fourth man on bail in connection with the fraud investigation into the handling of maintenance contracts at Heathrow Airport (CJ 9 July).

The BAA employee was arrested at his home by police last week. No further details are available.
News of the swoop follows the arrest and release on bail of three other junior managers at BAA. This was after a tip-off to Heathrow Police that millions of pounds had been siphoned out of maintenance contracts involving two contractors.

One of those contractors involved in the investigations is Heathrow-based Halliford Construction, one of BAA's maintenance contractors.

Halliford believes it has "nothing to fear" from the enquiries.
