IPS gains inspection contract

Access specialist Nationwide Skylift has entered into a service agreement with Independent Parts & Service (IPS) for the inspection of chain blocks for its entire fleet of vehicles.

According to LOLER regulations, chain blocks within boom sections of truck mounted access lifts must be examined by an approved insurance inspector every four years. Nationwide says it has found the ideal service partner for its fleet comprising 461 machines.

On average, one vehicle a week will be inspected at the IPS workshop in Newport, Salop, and according to Nationwide this will reduce downtime for the rental company.

Bob Buono, operations support manager for Nationwide Skylift, said: "The inspection process is an important element of our machine safety policy and IPS's service will help maintain our active fleet."
