Babcock wins five-year £65m RAF Valley contract

Babcock International Group, the support services company, has been awarded the £65m multi-activity contract at RAF Valley - the Ministry of Defence's (MoD) fast jet pilot training school on Anglesey.

The five year contract with options for a further three years, will involve a full range of support services, from aircraft engineering to base support, for its subsidiary, Babcock Defence Services.

Peter Rogers, chief executive of Babcock International Group, said: "This contract which will result in the company being the premier support organisation for the Hawk Trainer.

"Our bid was based on our ability to deliver an outstanding level of availability to our customers which we have already demonstrated at RAF Leeming and at RNAS Culdrose."
