McInerney sets sights on £100m turnover

After opening up in the north west of England four years ago, Irish housebuilder McInerney is on line to hit a turnover of over £50m this year and plans to reach a figure of £100m within the next two years.

"We want to buy but good opportunities are few and far between, though we are looking at a few smaller ones," said Pat O'Flynn, managing director as he unveiled McInerney's latest interim results. They showed an operating profit in the UK of £1.4m on turnover of £20m.

O'Flynn wants to push across from Lancashire into Yorkshire and then further into the North East. "Statistics show that the northern housing market is holding up nicely," he said. "If necessary, we have the funds to grow organically. We should reach 1,000 plots by the year-end, equivalent to two years supply."
