Tata hits UK dealers
Rover's parent company Phoenix is importing the Tata range of
pick-ups into the UK and distributing the Indian-built vehicles
nationwide through a network of 50 dealers.
There are four versions of the TL pick-up with single and double
cabs offered on 4x2 and 4x4 chassis. Both models offer 200mm of
ground clearance and feature rear doors that give access to the
crew cab's back seat.
Power comes from a 2-litre charge-cooled diesel engine producing
66kW and driving through a five-speed transmission. Four-wheel
drive can be selected in high range when travelling at up to
64km/h, although engaging/disengaging low ratio has to be done at a
standstill.
With single cab versions, the load bed is 1.91m long and the
payload is 1,280kg. This diminishes to 1,030kg and 1.65m on the
crew cab versions. Both are fitted with six tie-down points and
there is the option of an Ifor Williams canopy for both
versions.
On-the-road prices start from £9,309 (inc VAT) for a 4x2
single cab pick-up and rise to £13,847 (inc VAT) for the 4x4
double cab.
