Sims puts Cat M322Cs to work

The UK's first two Cat M322C material handling wheeled excavators, featuring the new Cat 3056E electronically controlled engine, have been delivered to ferrous and non-ferrous metals recycler Sims Metal.
The units have been purchased from UK distributor Finning and will undertake scrap metal handling duties at Sims' sites in Nottingham and Yateley.
The Cat machines feature a hydraulic system incorporating a separate swing pump and load sensing system, which is said to provide maximum power and control. Cat said the unit's new engines also provide increased horsepower and low operator sound levels.
Sims Metal UK general manager Ricky Kilpatrick said: "With the Cat's long-reach and hydraulically raised cab, the operator has good visibility and is able to work in complete safety, and Finning has always been one of our preferred suppliers."
