Willmott Dixon wins £60m housing alliance

Nucleus Housing Group has chosen Willmott Dixon as its strategic long-term partner for all major housing projects over the next five years in an alliance expected to be worth approximately £60m to the affordable housing specialist.

The decision follows a rigorous three-month selection process and will see Nucleus benefit from Willmott Dixon's established supply chain and modern construction techniques to deliver its long-term affordable accommodation programme across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

In a separate agreement, Willmott Dixon will work with Nucleus to redevelop the 147-house 'Star Blocks' estate in High Wycombe to provide 300 mixed-tenure homes when complete. The project, which starts later this year, is worth an extra £27m over the next five years.

Willmott Dixon's chief operating officer Chris Durkin said: "The long-term relationship, based on an open-book approach, will allow us to plan our resources, modern construction methods and supply chain to provide predictability in costs and timescale for Nucleus Housing Group's delivery programme.

"With our teams working closely together, we will effectively become Nucleus Housing Group's in-house construction operation, allowing it to focus on its core business of providing first-class accommodation."
