Wates waiting for social work

Wates is preparing its housing division for a surge in social housing work, chief executive Struan Robertson told CJ.
"We are assessing resources in our housing division and will be looking to make it a far greater contributor to the group," he said.
Robertson said Wates is willing to "poach the right staff" from competitors to achieve its goal. "People are much more precious than any acquisitions."
He revealed that turnover from the social housing division has risen to £80m this year from just over £60m last year.
