Five Terex for Lafarge
Lafarge Aggregates has taken delivery of five new Terex trucks for
haulage applications at four of its UK quarries.
The deal includes two Generation 7 TA30 articulated dump trucks and
one unit each of the TR40, TR45 and TR60 rigid dump trucks.
The two 27t-capacity TA30 units have been delivered to the
Mountsorrel super quarry in Leicestershire and will replace three
older machines.
The trucks are being used to haul finished materials from the
hopper bins to stockpiles. For this job it was important that the
trucks drive through narrow entrances to the overhead bins. They
were therefore specified with narrow tyres, 400mm body-side
extensions and an auto-latch tailgate.
The Llynclys quarry near Oswestry has taken delivery of the 41t
payload Terex TR45 to operate alongside an identical model bought
last year. The nearby Graig quarry in north Wales has the 55t
capacity TR60.
At the Marfield quarry in North Yorkshire, the recently delivered
36t payload Terex TR40 unit is hauling sand and gravel for a
crushing and screening operation.
