Stokey thinks small to boost fleet
Stokey Plant has bought its first JCB excavator to offer customers
a wider range of equipment.
The Midlands-based hirer is best known for hiring and operating
large excavators, dozers and dump trucks, but is now offering
lighter equipment too.
Sales director Ian Jones said: "Stokey Plant is renowned for
offering larger excavators of up to 80t.
"People were asking us for smaller plant and we were directing them
to other companies, so we decided to diversify and give our
customers a wider choice of machines."
Stokey has bought a 13t operating weight JS130 tracked excavator
and is considering buying telehandlers and dumpers. Jones said: "We
are looking to further develop our relationship and buy more
machines from JCB."
Stokey has 35 heavy machines (all operated) and Jones said the
fleet would expand as it adds smaller equipment, which will be
offered as self-drive.
