Radiodetection secures pipes

Radiodetection claims it has made a major breakthrough in pipeline security with the launch of its Secure Pipe.
The device is an advanced security monitoring system that uses fibreoptic sensors to detect any attack to within 150m along pipelines up to 60km long.
As pipelines are susceptible to theft, terrorism attacks, damage caused by earthmoving equipment, as well as natural earth movements, the Secure Pipe could be the solution.
It can pre-warn security crews of any impending threat to a specific location, while intelligent event discrimination minimises false alarm rates to save time and costs.
Radiodetection said the monitoring system is easy to install, requires no field power, and is unaffected by lightning or storm interference, resulting in a more reliable operation.
