Speedy spends £1.3m on Watts sales and hire

Speedy Survey has bought Watts Optronics' sales and hire network for £1.3m from survey equipment manufacturer Leica Geosystems.
The integration of the Watts branches increases Speedy Survey's nationwide network to 12 depots. The two parties have entered into a four-year purchasing agreement that allows Speedy access to Leica's technical expertise.
Speedy Survey managing director Mark Whitworth said: "The addition of Watts Optronics strengthens our support to both our existing customers and those previously dealing with Watts. We now offer greater geographic coverage."
<F06E> Speedy Hire has appointed the Hire Supply Company (HSC) as the sole supplier of quartz halogen heaters for its 2004 catalogue. HSC said its Elite Heat and Elite Heat Swivel quartz halogen heaters have been designed with the hire industry in mind.
