Provision of local bus services - Durham County Council

DURHAM COUNTY COUNCIL
ENVIRONMENT AND TECHNICAL SERVICES
Tenders are invited for the provision of approx 20/30 local bus
services/local bus and taxi service contracts and approx one local taxi
service contract within the administrative area of Durham County Council
and adjoining authorities.
The period of the contract varies but the earliest start date is 22
February 2004 or ends on 28 April 2007.

Firms should submit in support of their tender:
a) appropriate statements from service provider's bankers or evidence of
relevant professional risk indemnity insurance
b) statement of accounts or extracts therefrom relating to the business of
the services providers where publication of the statement is required under
the law of the member State in which the services provider is established
c) a statement of the overall turnover of the business of the services
provider and the turnover in respect of the provision of services of the
type to be provided under the proposed services contract in the three
previous financial years of the service provider
d) the principal services provided by the services provider of similar type
to the services to be provided under the contract in the past three years,
the dates on which the services were provided, the consideration received
and the identity of the person to whom the services were provided, and any
certificates issued or countersigned by that person confirming the details
of the services provided or, but only where that person was not a
contracting authority, any declaration by the services provided attesting
the details of the services provided
Tenders should be returned in the envelope provided to the Director of
Corporate and Legal Services, County Hall, Durham to reach him no later
than 4pm on 17 November 2003, and prices are to be held for a period of 120
days after the closing date.
The Council do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any tender.
