CH Pearce awarded deals worth £34m
CH Pearce has picked up a brace of contracts in the South West
totalling £34m.
The Bristol-based contractor has stepped into a £20m deal for
footwear giant C&J Clark in Street, Somerset, after the client
gave the boot to tenders from Kier, Birse and Taylor Woodrow. Work
on the 32,000m2 distribution centre is due for completion around
December 2004.
And for the City of Bristol College, Pearce will redevelop a
Victorian orphanage into teaching facilities. Two other
contractors, Leadbitter and Cowlin, were also in the hunt for the
£14m design and build project.
<F03C> Pearce is also in negotiations with the Ministry of
Defence for a £4m deal to design and build an extension to the
West Battery Building at Whale Island, Portsmouth.
The firm is already on site at Whale Island, building a new fleet
headquarters under a £16m deal.
