Engcon tries to boost Tiltrotator sales in UK
Engcon, the Swedish company that manufactures the Tiltrotator, is
to open a UK office in Coventry. The company sells 1,000 units a
year in its domestic market but sales in the UK have reached only
200 in two years.
Engcon said it is looking to actively sell and market its product
in the UK to OEM excavator dealers and end users, but will continue
working with its existing distributors, such as EXAC1.
The Tiltrotator is often described as the wrist of an excavator,
allowing the bucket to rotate through 360o and to tilt 40o in
either direction. It comes in five sizes to suit excavators and
backhoe loaders ranging from 3t to 32t and has a built-in quick
coupler.
Peter Gillgren, sales director with Engcon UK, said excavators
fitted with the device are ideally suited to digging in narrow
areas, ditch cleaning, landscaping and sloping, curb placing and
waste handling. Machines fitted with the Tiltrotator can command a
significantly higher hire rate, he said.
"We will offer interested customers the chance to try the
Tiltrotator before committing to buy," said Gillgren. The company
will be demonstrating the Tiltrotator at SED (18 to 20 May 2004).
