OFT wants views on Balfour's Mansell takeover

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has asked for comments on Balfour Beaty's £42m takeover of Mansell.

Written comment on any competition or public interest implications arising from the takeover should be addressed to: Frances Elly, Office of Fair Trading, Fleetbank House, 2-6 Salisbury Square, London EC4Y 8JX. The deadline is 18 December.

Should the OFT receive comment that leads it to believe such implications will arise, the Competition Commission will be called in to investigate. However, it is thought highly unlikley that this will happen.

Balfour announced its bid for Mansell last month.
