Solas service deal launched

HM Plant, the UK's Hitachi construction equipment distributor, has
introduced a new service and an extended warranty agreement.
Solas offers a non-stop nationwide parts and service facility from its 10 regional depots and costs a fraction of the price of many competitive service agreements, said the company.
In the London area there is a motorcycle-equipped, rapid-response engineer. If a machine breaks down, Hitachi's technology enables an engineer to trace faults quickly and minimise downtime. If a machine cannot be fixed within 48 hours, Solas customers will get a machine on loan.
HM Plant chairman John Jones said: "Our customers need the right equipment for the job so that their work doesn't grind to a halt. If they operate machinery that isn't completely safe, then they run the risk of being held accountable for their actions and that can prove expensive."
