MPs worried about union access to Home Office
MPs are expected to table an Early Day Motion in Parliament
expressing concern at allegations that union officials are being
denied access to the Home Office headquarters development site in
central London where Bouygues is the main contractor.
This follows a meeting with UCATT general secretary George
Brumwell, who has written to Bouygues and the Home Office to
complain that officials were being denied access to the site
workforce.
"I have had no response yet from the Home Office or the
contractor," Brumwell said.
"We will pursue any company, whether foreign or domestic, that
tries to resist our right to meet with the workers to find out what
is going on in the industry as far as immigrant labour is
concerned."
