West England Uni advertises £55m contract

The University of West England wants contractors to bid for its series of contracts worth £55m in total on its Frenchay Campus in Bristol.

Within phase one of the overall project there are four lots:

• Lot 1: student rooms, £40m
• Lot 2: terraced/multi-storey car park, £11m.
• Lot 3: sports hall, £3m.
• Lot 4: temporary car park, £1m.

The Design phase is to be completed by next April. The temporary car park is due for completion by November 2004. The initial handover of student rooms is June 2005. The terraced car park needs to be finished by December 2006.

A second phase of work is still to be confirmed.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 23 January. Invitations to tender will be issued on 1 March.
