Work on second terminal at Glasgow Airport on schedule

Airport operator BAA Scotland has revealed further details of the second terminal currently being built at Glasgow Airport.

Costing £12m and being built to meet rising demand due to the influx of cheaper flights, work is already under way at the existing St Andrew's Building and the new terminal is due to open in May this year.

BAA Scotland has revealed that the development will be four new aircraft parking stands, a £1.8m hold baggage screening system and a new facility to expand the airport's recycling facilities.

The terminal project is part of a £1bn investment package by BAA Scotland at its three Scottish airports over the next 20 years.
