Builders merchant Travis Perkins has opened
its 700th branch, following the recent acquisition of timber
specialist WH Laver & Sons.
The 135-year-old specialist timber and milling business, located in
Hemel Hempstead, employs a team of 26 staff.
Frank McKay, Travis Perkins chief executive, said: "The acquisition
of WH Laver is another welcome addition to strengthen our branch
network, consistent with our established strategy of investing in
growth opportunities within our chosen areas of product
specialisation."
"We plan to introduce a range of heavyside products in the new
branch, in order that the local trade can find more of what it
needs in one visit," added McKay.
In the last 12 months Travis Perkins has acquired 100 branches.
