Design and construction contract - Torridge District Council

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
TENDER 11 NO. INDUSTRIAL UNITS AND ASSOCIATED WORKS
Applications are invited from experienced
Contractors, for inclusion in a tender list for a
"JCT with Contractors Design" contract for the
design and construction of 11 No. Industrial
Units, a road extension and extension/conversion
of existing buildings.  The estimated value of
the works is in excess of £2,000,000.
The Council will select four Contractors to
tender on a scheme for which outline planning
consent has been obtained.  (It is anticipated
that detailed planning permission will be in
place prior to appointment.)
Contractors will be expected to provide a
detailed design and specification based on
"Employers Requirements" including a strong
emphasis on "sustainable construction".
Interested Contractors should apply, in writing,
by not later than5 January 2004 and must include
the following details:-
1. Membership of any trade or employment associations.
2. A copy of the Firm's Safety Policy.
3. A copy of the Firm's Public Liability
Insurance details - minimum £5 million.
4. Name and address of Bankers and two Technical
referees together with formal authorisation
signed by either a Director of the Company or the
Company Secretary, or in the case of an Unlimited
Company, the Proprietor or Partner, for
permission for the Council to pursue financial
references.
5.A shortlist or report relating to similar
projects undertaken during the course of the last
five years.
